My Etsy Buy

Leather Gator Embossed Cuff Bracelet by Richard Moorer

I was shopping around for a good quality, not-terribly-expensive leather cuff. I wanted something that had a little bit of an edge to it without being too Sons of Anarchy (though I would do most anything for Jax Teller, don't get me started on that guy!). While the Etsy shop has an eclectic grouping of items, I loved the leather work & especially this Gator Cuff.

With the few clicks of the keyboard & a few days of shipping, I had my bracelet. And it was too big. My fault, not the artists. With just a simple request, he was kind enough to fix the bracelet for me so it now fits snugly.

Let me just say the bracelet is absolutely beautiful! Richard was awesome to work with & I have made the bracelet a wardrobe staple. I'm also loving the alligator key fob (not pictured) which is nicer than some of the very expensive designer brand fobs I've owned in years passed.

My sister is a lover of all things pink & girly (even her engagement ring has pink sapphires!), while I am the blue sister (my engagement ring is a tanzanite!). I am a Florida girl, but when it comes to lobster, I'm a fan of the cold water variety. One Fall, many moons ago, the Myer family took a camping trip to New Hampshire. During that trip, we got to visit Santa's village, dodge skunks, do some trout fishing & enjoy the biggest Maine lobster in Maine. Surely, Mom has the pictures of that fantastic crustacean.

I love looking at the Etsy front page. So many pretty pictures & beautiful items! I'm always wowed by the craftsmanship & artistry of the paintings, clothing & baubles. But I feel the front page has been lacking something lately, something so very fall - baked goods! Pumpkin treats, caramel apples, the smell of cinnamon & mulling spices - all things that make you want to enjoy the crisp air & take in Fall.

A milestone to say the least!

My adventure as an Etsy seller began in January of 2010 with my first sale January 7th. Funny because "7" days always have a special meaning to me. My husband's bday is on the 7th, my birthday is the 17th and we were married on the 27th day in 2007. I should have realized that was a good sign, but I never could have imagined this kind of success.

Morning Star Loft began as a hobby & has blossomed into something more. My real life job has me very busy - especially now where I have to be out of town during most of the week, only leaving me the weekends to design. I'm definitely looking into ways to improve my efficiency, without loosing my artistic integrity. I will be sure to let you all know how this new method progresses.

And one more bit of good news - I have been contacted by a trendy art gallery/boutique that is interested in selling some of my onesies! I'm over-the-moon excited & can't wait to get their order together & announce all the details here once they've been finalized.

Etsy has this really fun section called the Treasury. An Etsy Treasury is a member-compiled collection of items that usually share a common theme. The Treasuries often end up on the front page of Etsy - a highly coveted position.

I got a great surprise tonight when I was notified that SqueakyBroncoLibz had included my Free Bitch Baby Onesie in her Treasury titled "Gaga Ooh La La!" It's a really fun collection of all great handmade Lady Gaga inspired items. I've so enjoyed producing the Lady Gaga Onesies & T's, it was great to get a little nod from a fellow Etsian.

Baby Gaga Collection

If you know me, you know I am a big fan of Lady Gaga. Her music keeps me running and singing in the car (with the windows rolled up!). Last year, I was lucky enough to see her at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa, standing on the floor just 12 ft from the stage. What a fun show! If you have the chance to go, you absolutely should! I know ticket prices have jumped, but it's a fantastic show that won't disappoint. Lady Gaga is a spectacular performer & goes all out for her fans.

The new tour is underway & it is time for some new designs. Inspiration came from a source very near to Lady Gaga. However, I don't want to reveal the customer's identity & ruin any surprises. Hopefully, I'll have more on this later. :)
